TRANSCRIPT

00 Hello, and welcome to Mindful in 5, helping you discover your peaceful path. I'm your host, Spiwe. Jefferson, author of the Mindful in 5 book series.

15 Welcome to a very special episode of Mindful in 5 99! Next week is Thanksgiving and a huge milestone for mindful in five, our 100th episode. To celebrate, I invited some of our listeners to reflect either on the 100th landmark, or to share how they are using mindfulness in their own lives. So you don't get to hear some of our fellow mindful ninjas reflecting on their own journeys, I always like to take time to pause and take it in when something really wonderful happens. So let's take this pause and just breathe together. Consider doing this anytime you have an event to celebrate. Take a moment to yourself to take it in. If you are multitasking, take your fingers off your keyboard and rest your hands in your lap. If you are out walking, if it's safe to do so, Stop where you are. Drop your hands by your sides. Relax and stand still.

39 Don't do this if you're driving or operating equipment. But for the rest of us. Start by experiencing the sensations in your body. If you're standing, feel the solid contact of your feet on the ground. If you are outside, feel the air on your face. If you're sitting, feel the chair coming into contact with the back of your body. Feel the clothes on your skin. And now let's release some tension. And you can close your eyes to do this if you like when to ask you to inhale, take a deep breath in and tense every muscle in your body. Then hold it for a few seconds, you'll probably feel your body vibrate, and that's okay. Then release that tension and let it flow from your body like water. We'll do it twice. Here we go. Take a deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale and release. Again, deep breath in. Hold it. Exhale and release. Hopefully you're feeling a little more relaxed. I like to take that mindful pause anytime, especially if something great is happening. Or even if it's a busy time, like when we have guests in the house for the holidays. Or when we're entertaining, I like to just go off when I'm when I go to the bathroom or when I just am in the pantry doing something, picking something up. I just like to take a pause and just be grateful - express gratitude for the people who are in the house with us for this event that we are experiencing together for this wonderful thing that is happening or that has happened. And I just like to go within. And I'm a god lovers, I like to go within and just touch base with God and say thank you, thank you for this thing. Thank you for this event. Thank you for this life that you have given me where I get to walk where I get to feel the sunshine on my skin where I get to experience this amazing work that I'm doing for this company or whatever it is that I'm grateful for. I just like to check in with myself and say thank you and enjoy this time that I'm in in this moment.

33 As we stand at the threshold of our 100th episode, let's take a quick look back at the path we have tried. The very first episode was titled intro to mindful in five, what's in it for you? It aired on May 30, 2021. And I promised to share mindfulness tools and strategies to empower you to weather life's challenges from place of calm so you can live and work to your highest and best purpose each day. We've covered many topics on this podcast and now 99 episodes in, I am proud of the evolution of our journey as we continue our quest to discover our peaceful path together.

23 Now in season four, we have continued to grow. And from time to time, I get input from the mindful ninjas, the email subscribers that helps to shape the content that you receive. If you would like to become a mindful ninja and have a say in the content, then feel free to sign up in the notes for this podcast, you can sign up either for the classic edition, or for the god lovers edition. And along with your signup, you will receive the Hallmark five step feats meditation method to jumpstart or to reset your mindfulness practice.

08 In season four, we are more focused on ways to help busy professionals leverage mindfulness to increase calm, focus and effectiveness at work. In season three, one of the most popular features was the mindful insights, a single quick insight that you could leverage and incorporate into your workday. As a result, this is the primary format for season four. They are short, quick insights that give you one mindful tool that you can integrate into your work day and your work week. This is part of the way that we have grown this podcast to increasingly address the challenges that you face and meet the needs that you have. Also, if you haven't noticed, Season Four brought transcripts for each episode. If you go to the web page for the episode you're listening to you can view the notes for the episode. And you can also view the transcript,

26 I'm proud to say in season four mindfulness and five was recognized by Feedspot as one of the top 25 Best mindfulness meditation podcasts.
